Defining the standard rates

The Standard Rates are the base rates you charge for a single pet in a booking, during the normal time of the year (i.e. not in low or high season) – note you can override these rates within each booking. Once these rates are defined you can add discounts and surcharges to automatically handle bookings with multiple pets, different seasons, and length of booking discounts.

Follow these steps to define the standard rates:

 

  1. Open the Boarding Rates form if it is not already open.
  2. Under the “Standard Rates” section, specify whether you charge by the size of the pet, or by the type of run a pet is booked into in, using the “Charge Method” field. If charging by run type you can also choose whether the rates to be entered apply to the whole run, or each pet within the run, within a booking. The grid will show the pet sizes or run types that have been previously defined. If you chose to charge by Pet Size, you can edit the list of sizes in the Data Lists form by clicking the Edit Pet Sizes button. If you chose to charge by Run Type, any changes to these must first be done in the Runs form.
  3. For each pet size or run type shown in the grid, enter the rate to charge in the “Rate” column.
  4. When finished, save the standard charges.
